Sustainability is at the heart of our business. Its why we do what we do.

Our guiding principles are:

  • do less evil
  • there is no such thing as waste just a lack of imagination

but words are easy, so you might be interested to know how we put sustainability into practise:

  • we source our wool from small flocks in Norfolk
  • we pay above market value for the fleece we use
  • our wool is scoured, carded and spun in the UK
  • we use natural dyes sourced from plants grown locally
    • we do not use toxic mordants and modifiers
  • we also use synthetic acid dyes – these are clearly stated on the things we make
    • we use food grade citric acid
  • we work with local craftspeople and pay a fair rate for the beautiful things we ask them to make
  • we are as carbon free as possible:
    • the power we use is 100% renewable derived from our own solar and Good Energy PLC
    • the heat we use is 100% renewable from sustainably sourced local wood
    • our transport is bike over car, train over plane (the bus is a bit problematic as the nearest stop is over 3 miles away…)
  • we are as plastic free as we can be:
    • all our packaging is reusable, recyclable and compostable
