If you have ever wanted to experience the magic of Boudiccas blue, woad, then this workshop is for you.
A full-days workshop working with Woad, Isatis tinctoria, the UK’s native source of indigo pigment.
Join Jenn Monahan of the fibreworkshop in this workshop where you will learn how to grow, harvest and prepare dye vats from freshly harvested woad. We will be taking a walk to Jenns Woad patch where we will harvest fresh leaf which we will bring back to process. In the afternoon we will be looking at woad pigment and using it to prepare an organic vat. We will be using the vats t to dye wool and other textiles.
Includes all materials, notes & samples made in class to take away & tea, coffee and cake! You will also receive a packet of woad seeds for you to take away to continue your own woad adventure
Class size is limited – 8 participants only – and the workshops fill up fast.
